MICHAEL CLESNER
Of Fredericksburg, VA died Saturday, February 18, 2017 after suffering from a chronic illness. He coached high school, summer and USA swimming, and for years was actively involved in the Virginia Swim Program, both in high schools and USA swimming. Mike coached and mentored many of his kids to careers in swimming on the collegiate level and to the Olympic trials. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Jennie Clesner and his sister, Deborah Clesner, of blessed memory. He is survived by his sisters, Sonia and Lisa Clesner (Festus Joyce); his brother, David Clesner (Leslie); nieces Heidi and Delaney Clesner; and nephew Parker Clesner. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, February 21 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A graveside service will be held at noon on Wednesday, February 22 at Judean Memorial Gardens, Olney, MD.
