Paul M. Innocenti, age 64, of Monrovia, MD passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer and multiple sclerosis (MS). Paul was a devoted, loving husband and is survived by his wife, Mary Innocenti.
Paul was born in Washington, DC and was the youngest child of John and Mary Ellen Innocenti, both predeceased. He is survived by his four siblings, Donna Innocenti, Theresa Kraus (Frank), Martha Cotterman (Chip), and John Innocenti (Leigh), as well as many relatives and friends who shared in his cheerful spirit.
Paul was an excellent woodworker and cabinet maker; he excelled in his woodshop classes at Springbrook High School. After graduation in 1978, he started his career making custom furniture and then started his own residential and commercial general contracting business in 1981. Paul also worked intermittently for various commercial construction companies as a project manager, but he always returned to his passion of running his own business. He was highly skilled at his trade and was able to build and fix almost anything, so he was affectionately referred to as ‘Mr. Fixit’. He had a slogan on his business card that read: ‘Building Partnerships’ and that is how he interacted with people everywhere he went.
Paul was very kind, easy-going, and welcoming. He treated everyone like a friend and many of his friends, work colleagues, and neighbors became extended family. He loved to make people laugh and always had a funny joke or story to share. He tried to brighten everyone’s day and wanted to leave a smile behind when he left. Paul’s passing has left a void in the hearts of all who were blessed to have known him.
God must have needed something sturdy and beautiful to be built in Heaven to have called Paul home so soon.
A funeral mass for Paul will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Ignasius of Loyola Catholic Church located at 4103 Prices Distillery Road in Ijamsville, MD 21754. A private Celebration of Life will follow. Interment will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens located at 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway in Frederick, MD 21701.
